Drop Cookies – Plain

Plain ‘Cookies’ great to eat with soup, stew or eggs

Ingredients

  • 250g Plain Flour, sifted
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 115g Cold Unsalted Butter, cut into small cubes
  • 240ml Cold Whole Milk

Method

  1. Preheat your oven 220°C (200°C fan/Gas 7).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Use your fingertips to rub the cold butter into the flour until it looks like coarse crumbs.
  5. Pour in the cold milk. Stir just until the flour is moistened. Do not overmix. The dough should be sticky.
  6. Use a large spoon or an ice cream scoop to drop mounds of dough onto the prepared tray, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the tops are golden brown.

  • Yields approximately 8 to 10 biscuits
