Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (110g)
- 1½ cups brown sugar (approx. 300g)
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk (120ml)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour (approx. 240g)
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon clove
Method
- Mix and sift dry ingredients, add butter, sugar, eggs and milk, and beat until smooth.
- Bake in a moderate oven forty minutes.
- One cup chopped raisins, or one cup chopped dates may be added to this cake.
