Ingredients
- ½ cup butter (110g)
- 1 cup sugar (approx. 200g)
- 2 egg yolks
- ½ cup milk (120ml)
- 2 egg whites
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1-¾ cups of flour (approx. 210g)
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon molasses
Method
- Cream butter; add sugar, yolks of eggs beaten until thick, flour in which baking powder has been sifted, alternately with milk and egg whites, beaten until stiff.
- To one third of this mixture add the spices.
- Pour into pan the light and dark mixtures irregularly.
