Lowney’s – Devil’s Food

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter (165g)
  • 2 cups sugar (approx. 400g)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk (240ml)
  • 8 tablespoons chocolate
  • 2¼ cups flour (approx. 270g)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon clove
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Cream the butter, add the sugar, the chocolate melted, eggs well beaten, flour sifted with baking powder, salt and spices, and the milk.
  2. Beat well, and bake in angel cake pan.
  3. Frost with Chocolate or Marshmallow Frosting.
