Lowney’s – Chocolate Angelettes

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ cup sugar (approx. 200g)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons Lowney’s Always Ready Chocolate Powder
  • ¼ cup flour (approx. 30g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • confectioner’s sugar

Method

  1. Beat whites; add cream of tartar and sugar, and continue beating.
  2. Cut and fold in salt, chocolate, flour.
  3. Flavor and drop by spoonfuls on to a buttered sheet; sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar and bake in a moderate oven (180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4, Fan 160°C).
